New 'Idol Philippines' winner vows to stay Kapamilya
Khimo Gumatay, winner of the second season of “Idol Philippines,” promised to remain with ABS-CBN no matter what.
This, he said, is his own way of showing loyalty and love for the network, which he credited for his newfound relevance.
Beyond that, he is also a big fan of "ASAP."

Recall that prior to the announcement of show winner, first season judge Vice Ganda advised the new winner to stay with ABS-CBN.
“Sana maraming magbukas na opportunities sa’yo," Vice said then, and added in jest: "Sana mag-stay ka muna dito sa network na ‘to.”
Khimo noted that being adjudged the best of the best is a "humbling experience."
But he wasn't actually supposed to join the singing contest. It was only through the constant prodding of loved ones that he eventually tried his luck on the show.
"I'm beyond thankful na sumali. It was indeed a very humbling experience and also a blessing," he reiterated.
Khimo also talked about his journey prior to joining the "Idol Philippines."
He shared that before, he joined an online international singing competition hosted by Boyz2Men's Wanya Morris.
"That competition po is an international event po na out of two hundred po, dapat isa lang po ‘yung mananalo. And ‘yung mga competitors po, galing po sa ibang bansa. For example po, mayroon po kaming naka-compete doon na finalist po ng 'The Voice Brazil,' and mayroon din pong member ng back-up vocalist ni John Legend po, so very, very challenging din po ‘yung competition na ‘yun," he said.
“Fast forward po, ako lang po ‘yung iisang Asian na nakapasok po sa finals at that time. ‘Yun po, malaking experience po ‘yun and at the same time sobrang marami po akong natutunan. And kahit papaano po nadala ko po sa 'Idol Philippines.' And kung anong Khimo po ‘yung nakikita ninyo ngayon, is product din po ng competition na ‘yun.”
More than anything, the 23-year-old star is also grateful for his prize as "Idol Philippines" grand winner.
He took home a franchise from Dermacare worth P3 million, a recording contract with ABS-CBN Music, P1 million cash, and a house and lot worth P2.5 million.
He said it's a big help for him and his family.
