Cagayan Valley region workers get P25/day salary increase


Starting Saturday, Oct. 1, workers from the private sector in Cagayan Valley will receive additional P25 on their daily minimum wage, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced.

The increase falls under the second tranche of the wage increase under Wage Order No. RTWPB 2-21 of the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-Region 02 (RTWPB-R2).The wage order approved a P75 increase under three tranches.

Among those who would benefit are workers in the industry, retail, and services who will now receive P400 a day from their previous P375 daily minimum salary.

The first adjustment took effect on June 8, with a salary modification of P30/day. The second tranche falls on Oct. 1, and the third and last tranche will be given on January 1, 2023.

Also, workers in the industry of non-agriculture (retail/services establishments) employing more than 10, and workers from the agriculture sector, will be receiving another P20 and P25 increase, respectively, on January 1.


According to DOLE, employees getting a minimum salary are entitled to wage adjustments.


The new wage order covered the private sector all over the region comprised of the three component cities of Tuguegarao, Cauayan, and Santiago; and the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, and Batanes.
