The entire Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports community was caught off-guard by the shock decision of Blacklist International stars Jonmar “OhmyV33nus” Villaluna and Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario to take a break in MPL Philippines Season 9 but the champion duo was quick to assure their fans and supporters that they will come back in Season 10.
In a separate post moments after the news broke out regarding their decision to skip the upcoming MPL Philippines Season 9, the dynamic duo explained that they want to take the ‘much-needed’ break especially after an eventful 2021 that saw them win multiple championships for Blacklist.
“Sobrang pasabog to the highest level ang mga naachieve natin last year kaya tingin ko naman deserve kong magpahinga muna saglit from all the eksena and live a peaceful plantita life,” said the captain of the M3 World Champion team.
“I will be resting for a while this season 9 para naman mabigyan ko ng time yung ibang goals ko sa buhay and magbonggang beauty rest lang din talaga,” he added.
The same goes for Wise who also want to spend time with his family after being away from them for most of the time since the team had to stay in the bootcamp during the MPL seasons.
“Thank you sa mama ko na pinayagan ako maging pro player. Ngayon na naabot na natin pangarap nating maging world champion, oras na para magpahinga muna saglit para mas makasama ko naman family ko this season,” said Wise.
The two became the pillars of the dominant run of Blacklist in 2021. The team won two MPL Philippines titles and the M3 World championship during the year to go along with runner-up finishes in the MPL Invitational and the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup.
OhmyV33nus admitted that it wasn’t a smooth sailing year especially with the issues he had to face outside the game, but nonetheless happy to what he has achieved during that run.
“Napakaraming eksena ang nagdaan na tinest talaga ang patience ko as a person, para akong nirebond nang paulit ulit with brazilian blowout! At sa dami ng bash na natanggap ko, doon ko mas naramdaman na ang dami palang nagmamahal sa akin,” wrote V33nus while also thanking his and Wise’s supporters.
“Sobrang thankful ko talaga sa lahat ng support and blessings na dumating sa buhay ko lalo na finally nakuha natin hindi lang isa pero tatlong korona.”
