The Philippine General Hospital (PGH) will start limiting admissions of non-coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients amid manpower woes as the number of virus patients increases, its spokesperson said Sunday, Jan. 9.

In an interview over TeleRadyo, Dr. Jonas Del Rosario bared that 40 percent of its health workers who are involved in COVID-19 operations are either in isolation or under quarantine.
"Unti-unti po we're limiting our admissions of the non-COVID patients. In fact, meron na kaming directive na we will only take the real emergencies (We're starting to limit our admissions of non-COVID patients. In fact, we already have a directive that we will only take the real emergencies)," Del Rosario said.
"Tinigil muna po ang pag-admit sa elective cases para bumaba yung non-COVID and now you can import or reassign some of the non-COVID personnel back to the COVID operations (We will stop the admission of elective cases to decrease our non-COVID patients so we can import or reassign some of our non-COVID personnel back to the COVID operations) ," he added.
PGH is currently attending to 251 COVID-19 patients.
