PCG deploys personnel to assist in gov't COVID response in NCR
As the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases continue to rise in the country, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has deployed some of its personnel in Metro Manila to assist in the swab testing of people suspected to be carrying the deadly virus.

Through its Coast Guard Task Group RT-PCR, the Coast Guard personnel were deployed to assist different government agencies and offices that lack manpower in COVID response. The Task Group RT-PCR was also instructed to assist private medical entities in conducting swab test for returning overseas Filipinos as most of the medical staff of laboratories were reportedly infected with the virus.
Since the deployment of its personnel on Saturday, Jan. 8, the PCG Task Group has been able to take 7,194 RT-PCR swab tests for OFWs and government employees.
