Toddler dressed as Queen Elizabeth II receives royal mail

After dressing up their little girl as Queen Elizabeth II for Halloween, a family from Kentucky in the United States received a royal mail.

In a report from CNN, Katelyn Sutherland found on Dec. 27, 2021 a letter in their mailbox addressed to her daughter, Jalayne, with a royal stamp sent from the Windsor Castle.

The report said that the letter was signed by the lady-in-waiting, Mary Morrison, a female personal assistant to a court and it read "Her Majesty thought it kind of you to write to her, and The Queen was pleased to see the photograph of your daughter, Jalayne, in her splendid outfit."

The two-year-old girl was dressed in a light blue coat and a hat set matched with a white wig and pearl accessories for Halloween which resembles the Queen.

Photos of Jalayne were taken with their two corgi puppies which completed the theme.

Katelyn said the inspiration for the costume came from her daughter's bond with the dogs.

She added that she printed the picture and sent it in a letter to the castle in the first week of November after being encouraged by her friends when she posted it on Facebook.

According to her, they hoped the letter would cheer up the Queen, who was not feeling well that time, but did not expect that it would be noticed.

The family plans to frame the letter as a display in their living room until Jalayne grows older to keep it by herself, the report said.
