Due to rising cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), a street in Angono, Rizal was placed under granular lockdown by the municipal government.
The lockdown on Acle Street in Barangay San Vicente took effect on January 5, the same day that Rizal Province was placed under Alert Level 3.
Richard Gappi of the Angono Rizal News Online said there were 13 active cases in Barangay San Vicente, seven of which are residents of Acle Street, prompting the local COVID-19 task force to enforce the road lockdown.
In her latest post on Facebook, Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon said among the newly recorded COVID-19 cases in San Vicente are an 18-year-old female who was a close contact to a confirmed case; a 29-year-old female, and a 19-year-old female, all of whom are experiencing mild symptoms and are on home quarantine.
As of January 6, the entire town has recorded a total of 129 active cases.
The municipal government is giving booster shots on Friday, Jan. 7, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office-Angono Municipal Compound and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at RHU II in Barangay Mahabang Parang.
