Bongbong isolated after COVID-19 exposure

Presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. is currently under isolation due to exposure to at least two individuals who turned out positive for COVID-19.

Lawyer Vic Rodriguez, Marcos Jr.'s spokesman, said Friday, Jan. 7, one of Marcos Jr.'s exposure was to his chief security, who tested positive for COVID-19 and is now admitted at a quarantine facility.

Rodriguez made the confirmation in a Viber message after the presidential aspirant did not attend the Commission on Elections' (Comelec) preliminary conference on the disqualification petitions against him.

On January 3, Marcos Jr.s' headquarters in Mandaluyong City was ordered closed until further notice after 20 staff members tested positive for COVID-19.

However, Rodriguez said, campaign preparations and other administrative functions of Marcos Jr.'s alliance with vice presidential candidate Sara Duterte-Carpio will proceed through work-from-home arrangements and virtual meetings.

Meanwhile, all public appearances, sorties and assemblies of the duo's UniTeam Alliance will be postponed during the said period.
