Pasig LGU converts vaccination modular tent into COVID-19 referral center
The Pasig City local government announced on Wednesday, Jan. 5, that one of its vaccination sites will be converted into a COVID-19 referral center due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases.
On its official Facebook page, the local government unit (LGU) said that the Pasig City Children’s Hospital - Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig (PCCH-PLP) modular tent previously used as a vaccination site will now become a COVID-19 referral center.
It added that those about to be vaccinated at PCCH-PLP may proceed to the Pasig City General Hospital for their inoculation.
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto also aired his concern over the country's COVID-19 situation after it tallied 40,000 active cases, 456 of which came from the city.
Sotto said that the 456 active cases in Pasig are a huge jump from the previous 50 which were recorded before the start of the new year.
He has also outlined some of the city's Beat Covid-19 Task Force's preparations in tackling Pasig's COVID-19 surge:
- The reopening of the COVID Referral Center E.R. Extension (RHS) and;
- The Hiring/renewal of emergency health personnel for hospitals and contact tracing.
Sotto urged his constituents to always adhere to the minimum public health and safety protocols and to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.
As of Jan 4., Pasig City recorded 57,981 recoveries and 1,470 deaths.
