More than P374.5-M worth of humanitarian aid extended to 'Odette'-hit areas, DSWD says
More than P374.5-million worth of humanitarian assistance has been extended to the areas affected by typhoon Odette, the Department of Social Welfare and Development has disclosed.

As of 6 p.m., Jan. 5, the assistance given to the victims of “Odette” in 10 regions totals P374,551,229.96, according to the DSWD’s Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center (DROMIC). The aid was provided by the DSWD, local government units (LGUs), non-government organizations (NGOs) and other partners.
The DROMIC reported 68,864 evacuee-families or 276,281 individuals who remain in 1,179 evacuation centers.
Meanwhile, 14,849 families or 53,193 individuals have opted to stay with their relatives and/or friends.
The DROMIC report showed that more than 2 million families or over 7.3 million individuals from 8,020 barangays had been affected by Odette.
The 10 affected regions were Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan), Bicol, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Davao, Soccsksargen (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, General Santos), and Caraga.
The DROMIC reported 925,864 damaged houses. Of these, 664,587 were partially damaged and 261,277 were totally damaged.
