Las Pinas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar issued an executive order on Thursday, Jan. 6, adopting the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) resolution limiting the mobility and activities of unvaccinated individuals in the National Capital Region (NCR) due to the rising cases of COVID-19 and the threat of Omicron variant.
Aguilar said the city government will strictly implement the stay-at-home policy for all unvaccinated individuals under the new alert level system.
She said indoor and outdoor or alfresco dining in restaurants and other food establishments; leisure and social trips to malls, hotels, event venues, sports and country clubs are allowed only for fully vaccinated individuals.
The mayor also directed all public transports under the supervision and regulation of the city such as tricycles must implement the protocols and restrictions of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) such as passenger capacity and presentation of vaccination cards of the passengers.
Aguilar said the city government will also adhere to the existing rules imposed by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) requiring unvaccinated individuals who reside outside but working in Las Pinas to undergo RT-PCR test every two weeks at their personal expense.
She said they should also present a COVID-19 negative result prior to being admitted to worksites.
The mayor also directed the police, barangay officials, the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO), and the City Health Office (CHO) to conduct checks to ensure that the executive order is being followed.
