ER queues for COVID-related symptoms now taking 'longer than usual'— St. Luke's
The St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMC) said Thursday, Jan. 6, that due to the “surge of patients,” the waiting time to seek medical consultation for coronavirus disease (COVID-19)-related symptoms in its emergency rooms is “longer than usual."

In an advisory issued on Jan.6, the SLMC assured the public that despite the situation, the utmost care of all patients is its priority.
“Rest assured that we are doing our best to ensure that all patients receive utmost care,” SLMC said.
In the same advisory, it confirmed that SMLC branches in Quezon City and Global City are experiencing a surge of patients.
“Given the current situation, we appeal to the public to avoid complacency and strictly adhere to health protocols and preventive measures against COVID-19,” it said.
The SLMC said the SLMC in Quezon City and Global City remain open to accommodate admissions and outpatient procedures and services for non-COVID cases.
“We have dedicated Emergency Room areas for COVID and non-COVID cases for everyone’s safety.”
The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday, Jan. 5, reported 10,775 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 nationwide.
