DICT puts up KonekTawag Centers in Dinagat, Siargao Islands

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) put up more KonekTawag Centers in the islands of Dinagat and Siargao.

According to DICT, through KonekTawag Centers, residents will now be able to communicate with their loved ones, search information online, and charge their devices.

Siargao and Dinagat islands were among the hardest-hit areas by Typhoon "Odette."

KonekTawag Centers are located at:
Municipal Compound of Libjo, Dinagat Islands
San Jose Port, San Jose, Dinagat Islands
Municipal Compound, San Benito, Siargao Islands
Municipal Compound, Sta. Monica, Siargao Islands
Municipal Compound of Pilar, Siargao Islands

The power charging stations run from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, while the free Wi-FI is available from 8 a.m. to 12 midnight.

DICT also urged residents to observe social distancing and follow health protocols upon arriving in the center.

As of Jan. 4, a total of eight KonekTawag Centers have been established by the DICT.
