Another returning Pinay faces raps for skipping quarantine- Año

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) has started the investigation on a new incident involving a returning Filipina traveler who breached the quarantine of a Makati hotel.
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año said they have already identified the quarantine jumper and is now the subject of a case build-up by the CIDG.
“Kagabi (Jan. 4), kausap ko si CIDG chief (Pol. Major General Albert) Ferro at nagsimula na sila sa investigation nila (Last night I spoke with CIDG chief Ferro and they already began their investigation),’’ Año said.
Instead of staying at the quarantine of a Makati City hotel after arriving in the country on Dec. 22, Año noted that the traveler went directly to her condominium in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.
The CIDG is currently coordinating with the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) and Department of Tourism (DOT) to gather more pieces of evidence.
Last month, returning Filipina traveler Gwyneth Chua skipped the quarantine of a hotel also in Makati City had dinner and partied in a Barangay Poblacion bar in the same city earning her the monicker “poblacion girl.’’
On Jan 4, the CIDG lodged a complaint against Chua, her parents Allan and Gemma, her friend Rico Atienza, Berjaya resident manager Gladiolyn Blala, assistant resident manager Den Sabayo, security manager Tito Arboleda, security officer Esteban Gatbonton and front desk staff Hannan Araneta before the Makati Prosecutor’s Office.
The charges were filed against them for violation of Republic Act (RA) 11332, or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act. (Chito A. Chavez)
