The National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) said Tuesday, Jan. 4, that it will temporarily close its outpatient services (OPS) amid the rise in the number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients in Metro Manila.

In an advisory, NKTI said it will be closing its OPS on Friday, Jan. 7 "until further notice."
"All consultation during this period will be shifted to Telehealth Services," it said.
However, private outpatient clinics will be left to the discretion of the physicians.
"Private patients are advised to coordinate with their respective doctors regarding their scheduled appointments," NKTI said.
It then advised patients to call its OPS at 8910300 local 1123 for further inquiries.
"We, at the NKTI, are committed to abide with all the safety and precautionary measures in order for you to have a safe place in our hospital."
