The Makati City local government announced on Tuesday, Jan. 4, that non-residents may now get their booster jabs against COVID-19 at any vaccination site in the city as the country faces a new wave of infection brought about by the Omicron and Delta variants of the coronavirus.
In an interview with ANC, Makati City Mayor Abby Binay said that the city now allows walk-ins for non-residents who wish to receive their booster shots.
“You just have to register in the portal since we don’t have your record. So you register online first, and then after that, you can walk in. Or if you did not register online, you will have to register on site,” Binay said.
“We even have a capacity tracker so you know which vax site has less people and what vax sites you should avoid. We do have that feature in our Facebook page,” she added.
According to the report of the Makati Health Department, the city now has 257 active COVID-19 cases as of Jan. 3. It added that 44,218 have recovered while 989 died from the coronavirus.
As of Dec. 29, the local government unit (LGU) has deployed 1,020,773 COVID-19 vaccines, and 47,011 booster shots.
