In the next 24 hours, the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan,” is expected to bring rains across the country, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Tuesday, Jan. 4.

Due to the continuous surge of northeast monsoon, residents of eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao region were warmed against scattered rain showers.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country were likewise warned against partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.
The State weather bureau also reiterated that a gale warning remained hoisted in the seabords of northern, central, and southern Luzon, southern Visayas, and the northern and eastern seaboards of Mindanao.
Fishing boats and other small seacrafts were advised not to venture out due to rough sea conditions. (Charie Mae F. Abarca)
