Rain showers to prevail in central Luzon due to frontal system – PAGASA

In the next 24 hours, the frontal system, also known as the convergence of warm and cold winds from the northeast and southeast, is expected to bring rain showers in the eastern section of central Luzon, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Monday, Jan. 31.

“Sa kasalukuyan po ay frontal system pa rin ‘yung umiiral dito sa central Luzon at asahan pa rin po natin na magdudulot po ‘yan ng pag-ulan lalo na sa silangang bahagi ng Luzon (Currently, frontal system prevails in central Luzon. This may bring rain showers, especially in the eastern section of Luzon) ,” said PAGASA weather specialist Grace Castañeda in a public weather forecast.

Residents of Aurora, Quezon, and the Bicol region were warned against possible flash floods and landslides during moderate to at times heavy rain showers that the frontal system may bring.

Meanwhile, Castañeda said Cagayan Valley, Metro Manila, and the rest of Luzon may experience cloudy to partly cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon, locally called “amihan.”

The State weather bureau added that the rest of the country may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

No weather disturbance is expected to develop and affect the country in the next 24 hours, said Castañeda.
