Quezon City residents can get free medicines at health centers in their areas, the local government announced on Monday, Jan. 31.
There will be 66 health centers in the city that provide medicines for fever, cough, colds, vitamins, and maintenance (e.g Losartan, Metformin, Amlodipine). Their contact numbers are posted on its website: https://quezoncity.gov.ph/covid-19-watch/hospitals-and-health-centers-directory/
The residents must first undergo a checkup with the health center doctor for prescription before getting the appropriate medicines.
Those who will get maintenance medicines should also register at the nearest health center.
The city government said that it has implemented a modern pharmacy management system to ensure that the medicines are new, complete, will not run out and expire. Its system is now computerized to easily track residents who are yet to get their maintenance.
The medicines can also be delivered to bedridden residents or those who cannot visit the centers.
It also said that residents who requested for medicines that are not available in health centers will be referred to the city's Social Services Development Department (SSDD) for assistance.
