Muntinlupa LGU identifies 2 sites for pediatric vaccination

The Muntinlupa City government has identified two sites as venues for the vaccination of minors aged 5 to 11 years old in the city.

Muntinlupa City Health Office chief Dr. Juancho Bunyi said the two vaccination sites for the age group are the Laguerta Health Center in Barangay Tunasan and Ospital ng Muntinlupa in Barangay Alabang.

The national government announced that the rollout of the vaccination for 5 to 11 years old will start on Feb. 4 in select areas in the National Capital Region.

The pilot implementation will be held at the Philippine Heart Center, Philippine Children’s Medical Center, National Children’s Hospital, Manila Zoo, SM North EDSA (Skydome), and Fil Oil Gym in San Juan. The phase 2 of the rollout will include expansion in the NCR and other regions.

According to Bunyi, the target population for 5 to 11 years old in Muntinlupa is about 68,000. He advised the public to wait for the announcement by the Muntinlupa City COVID-19 Vaccination Program (MunCoVac) for vaccination schedules for the age group.

As of Jan. 30, a total of 9,653 minors aged 5 to 11 years old have registered for vaccination with MunCoVac.

Of the total, 1,025 belong to the Pediatric A3 group, or those with comorbidities, and 8,628 are without comorbidities.

Last Dec. 22, the Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine for ages 5 to 11 years old.

Five to 11 years old will be given two doses of COVID-19 vaccine that will be administered three weeks apart.

Muntinlupa residents may register online through the city’s COVID-19 vaccination registration system at www.vaccine.muntinlupacity.gov.ph/muncovac. The public may choose the category "Pediatric A3 (5-11 yrs. old)" for those with co-morbidities and category "Pediatric/Rest of the Pediatric Population (5-11 yrs. old)” for well-child population or those without comorbidities.
