The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Monday, Jan. 31, reported 250 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases among overseas Filipinos.

According to the DFA, the additional cases pushed the total of COVID-19-stricken Filipinos abroad to 24,768 cases.
In its latest COVID-19 bulletin, the DFA said the death toll went up to 1,459 after one fatality was reported among overseas Filipinos with the infectious disease.
DFA figures also showed that of the 24,768 cases, 8,765 of them are still undergoing treatment, while 14,544 have already recovered.
Of the 106 countries or territories that have registered COVID-19 cases involving Filipinos, most are still in Middle East and Africa with 13,355 cases, followed by Asia Pacific, 6,672; Europe, 3,662; and Americas, 1,079.
”The DFA, together with its Foreign Service Posts, remains fully committed to monitoring and assisting our nationals abroad amidst our continuing fight against the pandemic,” its advisory said.
