Phoenix subsidiary in Vietnam secures 1st ISO certification

The Vietnam subsidiary of Uy-led Phoenix Petroleum has achieved a milestone having secured its first International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification for quality management.

In a statement to the media, Phoenix Gas Vietnam (PGV) noted that its ISO Certificate 9001:2015 had been accorded by certifying body Universal GmbH, through PQI Vietnam.

That recognition, according to the company, serves as a proof of its “commitment and compliance to quality products and services,” and it covers Phoenix Gas Vietnam’s offices in Ho Chi Minh City, Danang, Cam-Ranh, Nha-Trang and Go-Dau.

“The certification is the company’s first ISO nod, and the fourth one for the whole Phoenix group,” the oil firm noted of its achievement.

The accorded ISO certifications to Phoenix Petroleum in 2019 and 2020 had been those in Quality Management System; Environmental Management System; and Occupational Health and Safety Management System – and those covered its terminals and depots in the Philippines.

Phoenix Gas Vietnam General Director Duong Nghia Dung, narrated that “since our establishment in 2019, Phoenix Gas Vietnam has been continuously working on improving our operations and services to ensure that we only provide world class, safe and high quality products and services to our customers.”

He conveyed “as a young brand, we wanted to establish PGV as a credible and reliable brand in the Vietnamese market, hence, this certification from ISO is a great achievement for us.”

For his part, Phoenix Petroleum President Henry Albert Fadullon emphasized that the addition of PGV’s ISO certification to the accomplishments of the parent-firm, is a manifestation that the Vietnamese subsidiary “has been doing exemplary well over the past years, getting landmark achievements for the whole group.”

The company chief executive further said “this only proves that even with its overseas subsidiaries, Phoenix maintains the same level of operational excellence and quality that it has across its ventures; and shows that Filipino businesses are truly world class.”

Beyond the ISO certification it recently clinched, Phoenix Gas Vietnam had been awarded last year with the Top 20 Gold Service Award for Consumer Rights 2021, “for its exemplary performance in the supply and trade of LPG in Vietnam; and company general director Duong was also feted as Outstanding Vietnamese Businessman 2021 “for his role in helping achieve the organization’s accomplishments.”
