Paras, Niigata make it two in a row; Thirdy's San-En absorbs fifth straight loss

Kobe Paras and Niigata Albirex made it two wins in a row after sweeping the Ibaraki Robots at home, 87-79, Sunday, Jan. 30 in Japan’s B.League.

Paras had nine points after making all four attempts with one rebound and one assist in 10 minutes as Niigata improved to 4-27, a day after snapping a 26-game losing streak.

Niigata, playing in front of its home fans at the City Hall Plaza Ao-re Nagaoka, won back-to-back games for the first time since early-October before dealing with the nightmarish run of defeats.

Dwight Ramos and the Toyama Grouses continued their impressive form with an 89-75 home victory over the Hiroshima Dragonflies.

Ramos put up six points, five rebounds and two assists as the Grouses swept the Dragonflies at the Toyama City Gymnasium for a 13-19 record.

Toyama has won three of its four games and five of the previous eight outings.

Thirdy Ravena and the San-En Neophoenix continued their struggle after a 79-62 loss to the Kyoto Hannaryz.

Ravena’s 11 points, four rebounds and four assists were not enough as the Neophoenix absorbed their fifth straight setback to fall 4-24 on the season.

Kemark Carino played only 90 seconds for the Aomori Wat’s in a 67-38 defeat to the Koshigaya Alphas in the second division.

Meanwhile, Ray Parks Jr. and the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins saw their second meeting against the Utsunomiya Brex postponed after one of their players tested positive for COVID-19.
