P3.2 M marijuana, shabu haul from Bulacan buy-busts; 7 arrested, including minors


An estimated P3.2 million worth of marijuana and shabu were seized by the Bulacan police in a series of drug buy-bust operations in the cities of Malolos and San Jose Del Monte in the province of Bulacan on January 29.

Col. Rommel J. Ochave, acting Bulacan police director, identified the arrested suspects for peddling marijuana as John Archie Sabado, 32, of Bongabon, Nueva Ecija, and a 17-year-old minor from San Andres, Cainta Rizal.

Arrested for selling shabu were Arturo Trinos; Norilyn Mariano; Annalyn Dupra; Sanny Bernardo; and a 17-year-old minor, all of Barangay Minuyan Proper, City of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan.

Ochave said the buy-bust operation by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Malolos City Police Station under the command of Lt. Christopher Leano resulted in the arrest of Sabado and his cohort minor in the act of selling a large brick of suspected dried marijuana leaves to a police poseur buyer.

Confiscated from them were a total of 20 bricks of dried leaves marijuana with an estimated value of P 2.8 million; cellphones, a vehicle, and buy-bust money.

Based on the report of Lt. Col. Allan B. Palomo, CSJDM OIC, a joint buy-bust operation was conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit Region 3, Bulacan provincial police office, Provincial Intelligence Branch, and CSJDM police in Minuyan Proper. An undercover intelligence operative was able to buy a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of shabu from the suspects.

Confiscated from the five suspects were 12 heat-sealed plastic sachets of shabu with an estimated weight of more or less 50 grams worth P400,000; several drug paraphernalia, and the buy-bust money.

All recovered pieces of evidence were brought to the Bulacan Forensic Unit for laboratory examination while appropriate criminal complaints are being prepared against the suspects.
