Frontal system to bring rains in northern, central Luzon – PAGASA
Scattered rain showers with thunderstorms may prevail over northern and Central Luzon in the next 24 hours due to the frontal system, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday, Jan. 30.

“Asahan ang maulap na kalangitan ngayong gabi, kalat-kalat na pagulan, pagkulog at pagkidlat sa Cagayan Valley, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mountain Province, Benguet, at sa buong Central Luzon dahil sa frontal system (Expect cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms in Cagayan Valley, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mountain Province, Benguet, and the entire Central Luzon due to the frontal system),” said PAGASA weather specialist Chris Perez in a public weather forecast.
The frontal system is the convergence of warm and cold winds coming from the northeast and southeast.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, locally called “amihan,” may bring cloudy skies with light rains in the Ilocos region and the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region.
The State weather bureau likewise warned residents of Metro Manila and the rest of the country against partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.
Furthermore, PAGASA said that no weather disturbance is expected to develop or affect the country in the next five days.
