DOST-developed election portal to be deployed in March

The Election Board (EB) Certification Portal developed by the Department of Science and Technology National Capital Region (DOST-NCR) will be deployed in March.

"With the restrictions on the conduct of face-to-face activities due to the pandemic, the DOST deemed it necessary to automate the usual certification process," DOST Secretary Fortunato "Boy" de la Peña said in a taped report.

De la Peña said the poll portal was subjected to load and stress testing from Jan. 17 to 24.

He added that certifiers from the 16 DOST Regional Offices, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, other DOST agencies, and state universities and colleges conducted the system performance testing to identify possible issues such as system bugs, downtime behavior, and server specifications to handle large group requests.

"This is being conducted to also ensure that the portal meets the passing evaluation ratio of the ISO 9126 system testing standards," he concluded.
