Paranaque City gov't implements skeleton work force under Alert Level 3

The Paranaque City government has started implementing a skeleton work force under Alert Level 3 in all City Hall offices and departments to ensure the safety of its employees amid the threat of the Omicron variant of COVID-19.

Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the skeleton work force at the City Hall will be at 60 percent starting Jan. 3.

Olivarez said the protection of its employees is paramount as they continue to serve the residents even during the pandemic.

He advised all those with transactions at the Local Civil Registry that the office was temporary closed on Dec. 31 until Jan. 6 for disinfection and containment.

The mayor also told residents to be cautious and be part of the “kapit bisig” (joined hands) in fighting the virus as they recorded 50 new cases of COVID-19 on Jan. 2, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 197.

Olivarez said the city government recorded 13 cases of the virus which was the lowest before the celebration of the holiday season and other barangays have recorded zero and single digit cases of the virus.

Based on the report of the City Health Office (CHO) and City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU), Barangay BF Homes recorded 31 cases of COVID-19 followed by San Isidro with 29, Don Bosco with 21, Merville with 20, Marcelo Green with 15, Sto. Nino with 13, and Moonwalk and San Antonio both with 10.

Only Barangay Don Galo from the 16 barangays in the city recorded zero cases while the others recorded single-digit cases of the virus
