Hundreds of 'Odette' victims treated at presidential yacht turned floating hospital
Typhoon “Odette” victims who experienced various medical conditions were attended to by military-medical personnel at the BRP Ang Pangulo (ACS-25), the Philippine Navy (PN) said.

Originally a luxurious presidential yacht, the BRP Ang Pangulo was converted into a 10-bed floating hospital on the orders of President Duterte so it could cater to the medical needs of typhoon victims in affected areas that were difficult to reach by land travel.
The PN said that a record of 233 patients from six communities in the islands of Capaquian and Sibanac in Dinagat Islands were attended to by their onboard medical personnel.

This brought the total number of patients treated in the floating ship to 373 residents.
“They were also provided with food, clothes, hygiene kits, and activity kits for the kids,” the PN said through the BRP Ang Pangulo social media account.

BRP Ang Pangulo is part of the 26-ship flotilla that were mobilized by the PN for humanitarian and disaster response (HADR) operations in regions that were battered by Odette more than two weeks ago.
