Nagoya, Parks yield to Utsunomiya; Paras, Niigata end lose streak

Ray Parks Jr. delivered 20 points for the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins but his efforts went to naught after absorbing a 93-79 defeat to the Utsunomiya Brex in Japan B. League at the Park Arena Komaki Saturday, Jan. 29.

Scott Eatherton paced Nagoya with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists while Parks added six rebounds and three assists on a losing effort.

Isaac Fotu spearheaded Utsunomiya's offense with 19 points with three rebounds and three assists while Yusuke Endo contributed 11 points, three rebounds, and one assist.

Kobe Paras and the Niigata Albirex finally ended their 26th losing skid after edging the Ibaraki Robots, 79-76, at the City Hall Plaza Aore Nagaoka.

Rosco Allen scored 26 points for Niigata with five rebounds and two assists while four other members scored in double digits.

Paras, for his part, added 10 points, two rebounds, and one steal for the Albirex. Javi Gomez de Liano of the Robots was also sidelined against Niigata.

Over at the Kyoto City Gymnasium, Thirdy Ravena had a huge game for the San-en Neophoenix but fell short to the Kyoto Hannaryz, 88-83.

Ravena led San-en with 26 points, eight rebounds, and one assist while Robert Carter fired 20 points to go with nine assists and seven rebounds.

Justin Harper proved to be too much for San-en as he sizzled with 36 points with 15 rebounds, and one assist for Kyoto.

Dwight Ramos and the Toyama Grouses routed the Hiroshima Dragonfly, 85-68, ath the Toyama City Gymnasium.

Ramos had seven points and three assists but it was Bryce Johnson who dominated with 18 points and 12 rebounds to go with three assists for Toyama.

Meanwhile, Matthew Aquino did not play anew as the Shinshu Brave Warriors pulled off an 89-79 win over the Osaka Evessa to get back to win column.

Ibaraki (6-23) and Niigata (2-27) remained at rock bottom of the East District while Nagoya (28-8) sits at No. 2 in the West District.

Shinshu improved to 13-17, Toyama had 11-11, while San-en fell to a 4-22 record.
