Donatella Versace joins sisters Bella and Gigi Hadid in new ad campaign

If there is one luxury label known for its supermodel moments, it is Versace.

During the time when the late Gianni Versace was leading the luxury fashion house, its runway shows were dominated by a bevy of towering beauties, from Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, and Helena Christensen, among others. Today, that tradition is continued by his sister Donatella with modern-day top models. In its spring-summer 2022 campaign, the brand’s chief creative officer makes a cameo with supermodel sister Bella and Gigi Hadid.

“The #VersaceSS22 campaign is an exploration of family and belonging in its different forms; sisterhood, community, and an embrace into @donatella_versace’s global Versace family,” the brand posted.

Shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the campaign is an ode to the early ads of the brand captured by the iconic American fashion photographer Richard Avedon. With crimped hair and wearing the label’s reimagined LBD, the three have become the label’s muses, looking very regal as its signature Medusa insignia.

“Family is so important to me,” Donatella posted on Instagram, “which is why I wanted these images to focus on sisterhood. I love this campaign so much that I couldn't help but join my Versace queens in a shot!! Girls, you are inspirational and empowering and I love you soooo much.”
