Voters required to wear face mask, face shield when voting

Aside from face mask, voters are required to wear face shield when they vote in the May 2022 polls.

"You cannot vote if you are not wearing face mask and unfortunately face shield," Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez said during the Kapihan sa Manila Bay forum on Wednesday, Jan. 26.

"We have yet to do away with the faceshield requirement. We will still consult with the Department of Health (DOH)," he added.

Jimenez said entry to polling places will also be strictly controlled due to the threat of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

"You will go through health screening...there will be temperature check and if you are suspected to be sick and it looks like COVID, you will be diverted to the isolation polling place or IPP," he said.

If a voter is not sick, Jimenez said, one cannot go directly to the classroom to look for their room assignment.

"We have a voter assistance desk which will be led by our citizens' arm, the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV). The citizens' arm will provide information to the voter where they should go," he said.
