More than 5,000 daycare students receive food packs from Valenzuela City gov't

Around 5,100 children enrolled at Gen. T. De Leon public daycare received food packs from the Valenzuela City government on Wednesday, Jan. 26.

The distribution of food packs is a part of the city government’s #AlagangValenzuelano Chikiting Food Patrol project in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The Alagang Valenzuelano Chikiting Food Patrol is Valenzuela City’s feeding program that aims to fight malnutrition in children.

Each food package contained two packs of canton noodles, three packs of mixed rice and monggo beans, canned good, two cans of evaporated milk, two packs of sotanghon noodles, a bag of rice, a pack of small anchovy fish, a box of hotcake mix, a pack of macaroni noodles, three to four packs of nutri-foods, and a pack of monggo beans.

The food packs were received by the parents of the daycare students at the Valenzuela 3S Center.

According to the local government, they will continue to do the initiative in other barangays in the city.

Aside from the food packages, #AlagangValenzuelano Chikiting Food Patrol also distributed NutriBun packs containing seven breads to Kinder to Grade 6 students across the city last Nov. 3.

In 2020, the Valenzuela City government started the NutriBun distribution, benefiting over 7,000 pupils under the Chikiting Food Patrol program.
