Kelley Day denies being third-party in Tom-Carla rumored split

Actress-beauty queen Kelley Day quickly cleared the rumors that she allegedly caused the reported breakup of Kapuso stars Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana.

On Instagram, Kelley, who won 1st runner-up in the Miss Eco International 2020 pageant, released a statement after her name was dragged into the issue.

"Many people are speculating about my involvement in a certain rumor/blind item story that seems to have been circulating today," she started. "So before things get too out of hand, I'd like to clarify that I have no knowledge of/involvement with the controversy."

According to Kelley, she doesn't even know how or why her name was linked to the couple.

"I'm surprised too," she related. "But what I do know is these accusations about me are false."

The Kapuso star reiterated that she went abroad to attend the funeral of a family member, and to spend time with her family based in the UK. "I'm not pregnant (nor have I ever been)."

"I have never had anything close to romantic involvement/interest with the person. I have, and always will, the utmost respect for the couple. They have always treated me with kindness," she added.

Kelley hopes breaking her silence would clear up the "false rumors."

"So much fake news out there nowadays. I hope we can take more caution with what we choose to believe online."

Veteran entertainment broadcaster Cristy Fermin gave a blind item about a third party in the break-up of Tom and Carla.

Cristy did not mention any names, but netizens think the showbiz scribe was referring to Kelley.

"Napakaganda at magaling umarte. Magaling mag kontrabida," Cristy described the mystery woman. "Kung ganda ang paguusapan meron ng napatunayan itong babaeng sinasabi na third party kasi yung nakapatong sa ulo niya hindi naman pinagawa lang. Kanya talaga yun."

Social media personality Xian Gaza also dipped his finger to the issue.

On Instagram, Xian sent Carla a direct message that read: "Madam Carla, magandang umaga po. My name is Xian Gaza, National Marites of the Philippine Islands. May gusto lang sana akong linawin para makatulog na po ako. Dalawang gabi na po kasi akong binabagabag nito. Apektado na po yung mental health ko. How true na may iba siyang nabuntis few months bago ang kasal? Totoo po ba ang tsismis na itey? Or fake news lamang ito? Nyealamat po."
