Zamboanga raring to return to Circle with rematch vs Ham

Filipina fighter Denice Zamboanga is raring to face South Korean foe Ham Seo Hee in the Circle anew following her controversial loss at the ONE women's atomweight grand prix quarterfinals.

"I can't explain the excitement! This is what I have been waiting for even after our first fight," said Zamboanga, who suffered her first career loss against Ham in September.

"In my past interviews, I've mentioned that I really wanted this rematch to show that I really was the one who won that fight."

Putting it all behind, Zamboanga said she already moved on from the decision and used the setback for a major comeback in the Circle.

The Marrok Force talent also lost her No. 1 seat to former teammate Stamp Fairtex after the latter captured the inaugural atomweight grand prix title.

Stamp submitted Indian rising star Ritu Phogat in the final to set up a world championship match against reigning atomweight queen Angela Lee on March 26.

Interestingly, Zamboanga and Ham are also part of the stacked card in celebration of ONE Championship's tenth anniversary.

For the No. 2 atomweight contender, this is another chance for her to prove that she deserves a crack at the belt.

"This is so special for me because I will be part of history. Just look at the title fights on this card, and how it's stacked from top to bottom and you can see how great the matches and the fighters are, so I'm really blessed to be part of it," said the 25-year-old Zamboanga, who has eight wins at hand.

Ham, for her part, has not seen action since her debut against Zamboanga.

The South Korean veteran, who has a 24-8 record, was supposed to face Stamp in the semifinal of the grand prix but suffered an injury during training camp.
