Pasig barangay distributes 800 care kits to COVID-infected residents

Barangay San Antonio (BSA) in Pasig City has distributed around 800 coronavirus (COVID-19) care kits to infected residents since January 2021.

The distribution of COVID-19 care kits to COVID-positive residents under isolation is part of the BSA health program which was initiated by Chairman Raymond Lising in January 2021. In August 2021, the barangay also launched an online medical consultation program.

“It has been a year now since we’ve started distributing free COVID-19 Care Kits. So far, we have provided more than 800 kits to our kabarangays (neighbors) who are recuperating at home. We are delivering these kits right at the doorstep of our kabarangays with symptoms of COVID-19...We are closely monitoring the cases of COVID-19 in our barangay. Once we learn a resident is undergoing home isolation, we immediately send him or her a BSA COVID-19 Care Kit,” Lising said.

Each COVID-19 care kit contains an oximeter which estimates the amount of oxygen in a patient's blood, a digital thermometer, batteries for the devices, vitamin C tablets, paracetamol tablets, face masks, garbage bags, and one bottle of disinfecting alcohol.

Meanwhile, BSA’s online telemedicine program made in partnership with The Medical City’s healthcare network provides the BSA residents free online medical consultations.
