Comelec to hold raffle for e-rally this week

National bets will know their timeslot in the e-rally platform when the Commission n Elections (Comelec) holds its raffle this week.

On Wednesday, Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez announced that the raffle for the e-rally will be held on Jan. 28.

"We will have a raffle at Comelec to assign the e-rally slots sa comelec para iassign mga erally slots," he said during the Kapihan sa Manila Bay online forum.

"We have an e-rally platform where the candidates can speak but we need to schedule it," Jimenez added.

"Since there are many candidates, the schedule will be divided, and this will be known on Jan. 28," he said.

Jimenez said the e-rally will be a regular channel for bets to reach out to voters.

"Every night, there will be candidates who will speak. I hope we can do it seven days a week," he said.

Earlier this month, the poll body announced the launching of the Campaign S.A.F.E. Comelec e-rally channel on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/COMELECeRallyChannel) which will provide e-rally airtime to all bona fide candidates for the positions of President, Vice-President and Senator, as well as to each participating Party-List organization.

The Comelec said the e-rallies will be livestreamed on their official social media channels beginning Feb. 8.
