The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said the petition of Tiburcio Marcos against presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr has not been disposed of.

Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez issued this clarification on Tuesday, Jan. 25, during a virtual press briefing.
"It's been submitted to the division. So, clearly an error was made saying that it was already disposed of coz it's with the division right now," he said.
"Hopefully, we can have more information regarding this particular case," added Jimenez.
Earlier this month, the poll official said the Comelec already dismissed the petition of Tiburcio.
The petition of Tiburcio Marcos seeks to cancel the certificate of candidacy (COC) of the former senator.
Last year, the poll body also dismissed the petition of Danilo Lihaylihay seeking to declare Marcos as a nuisance candidate.
On Jan. 17, the Comelec Second Division junked the petition of Fr. Christian Buenafe et al seeking to cancel the COC of Marcos Jr.
