Atong Ang's foundation donates home care kits to Metro Manila LGUs

The Pitmaster Foundation Inc., a national charitable organization under the leadership of Charlie “Atong” Ang, donated P20 million worth of home care kits to 17 local government units (LGUs) in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Atty. Caroline Cruz, executive director of the foundation, said each local government unit in the NCR will receive around 50,000 home care kits containing hygiene sets and medicines for COVID-19 patients who are on home quarantine.

The Pitmaster Foundation Inc. led by chairman Ang moves around the country to help Filipinos who need medical assistance amid the pandemic.

The foundation has been directly coordinating with the LGUs to help them in their COVID-19 pandemic response.

The turnover of home care kits was held at the Office of the Mayor in Pasay City Hall on Jan. 26.

The launching was attended by Department of Health Regional Director Gloria Balboa and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary Epimaco Densing.

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the home care kits will be distributed to COVID-19 patients suffering from mild symptoms to provide them comfortable treatment inside their homes.

Rubiano also thanked the foundation for their continued support to the COVID-19 response programs of the LGUs.

The mayor said the foundation first donated P100 million for antigen test kits and cash donations to NCR LGUs.
