BACOLOD CITY — A COVID-19 patient died after he jumped from the window of an isolation facility of Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) here Monday, Jan. 24.
Police withheld the name of the 68-year-old victim.

Police Capt. Paul Vincent Pendon, head of Police Station 2, said the victim was admitted for isolation at the hospital on Jan. 21.
Pendon said the victim then insisted to go home last Monday when his companion in the room was already discharged early that day.
However, the hospital did not allow him as he was still probably not cleared yet from the infection, the police chief added.
A few minutes later, a loud crash was heard, and upon checking, they saw the victim slightly hanging on the roof of a water treatment facility, where he fell from the fifth floor.
Police believed that the victim might be suffering from depression.
In a statement, the hospital management said that the hospital personnel in charge of providing the medical care to the patient noted no usual behavior from him.
The situation is very saddening especially during this time of pandemic, Dr. Julius Drilon, medical center chief II said, as he ask the public to pray for all the patients and health workers to overcome not only physical but mental and emotional exhaustion brought by COVID-19.
The hospital is currently coordinating with the family and the police for the release of the victim’s remains.
