Presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. said he is still hoping for the anointment of President Duterte as his bet for the upcoming presidential elections.
During One PH's Sa Totoo Lang interview on Monday night, Jan. 24, Marcos Jr. said he wants "of course" to get the endorsement of the president, like what any other candidate wants.
Asked what are the chances of getting an endorsement from Duterte, the presidential aspirant said, "You’re asking the wrong person. Ask President Duterte."
"How would I know? It’s his decision to make," he added.
Nevertheless, Marcos Jr. said the recent adoption of Cusi-wing's PDP-Laban, a party chaired by the president, of Sara Duterte-Carpio, his running mate, to become its vice presidential candidate already has "a movement in that regard."
Marcos Jr. also bared he has been in talks with Duterte's men about the current political situation of the country.
In November 2021, Duterte called Marcos Jr. "a very weak leader" who might be a soft talker, but cannot do anything in times of crisis.
Duterte's remarks came during the convention of PDP-Laban party members amid talks of possible coalition with Lakas-CMD, a party headed by his daughter and Marcos' running mate.
