Bongbong: 'Illegal drugs are only for jobless'

Presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. said Tuesday, Jan. 25 illegal drugs are only taken by those who have nothing to do and those who are jobless.

In DZRH's Presidential Job Interview, Marcos Jr. said he did not take illegal drugs when he was young and using it did not fit his lifestyle.

"Hindi ako pwede sa ganyan dahil marami rin, masyado akong maraming ginagawa (I could not be engaged with that kind of activity because I had a lot of things to do)," he said when asked he used to take illegal drugs when he was a child.

"That kind of lifestyle, para lang sa walang ginagawa, walang trabaho (are for those who have nothing to do, those jobless). But if you expect to produce good work, hindi ka pwedeng sumailalim sa ganyang bisyo (you cannot be involved in that kind of vice)," he added.

Recently, President Duterte said one presidential aspirant is using cocaine. He also gave a hint by implying that the candidate's father is well-known.

During the DZRH's interview, Marcos Jr. distanced himself with the allegation by saying he was even the first presidential aspirant who undertook a drug test right after Duterte's pronouncement.

He said he even gave his result to the Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency and the National Bureau of Investigation.

Meanwhile, Marcos Jr. said he is in favor of legalizing medical cannabis because he is "seeing the studies" that said it is effective.

"Kaya kung talagang ipapasa natin yung marijuana for medical use ay talagang maingat na maingat tayo kung papano gagamitin yan (So if we're going to pass a law allowing the medical use of marijuana, then we should be really careful on how to use it),"
