The Department of Health reported on Monday, Jan. 24, a total of 24,938 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases.

According to the DOH, five labs were not able to submit their data.
Monday's case bulletin brings the total number of COVID-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 3,442,056.
Of this, 7.6 percent or 262,997 are active cases. DOH said that 98. 2 percent of caseas are mild and asymptomatic.
Its data showed that 250,235 are mild, 7,944 are asymptomatic, 3,010 are moderate, 1,499 are severe while 309 are in critical condition.
DOH also reported 35,461 new recoveries bringing the total to 3,125,540 or 90.8 percent of the total number of cases while 47 have died, bringing the death toll from COVID-19 to 53,519 or 1.55 percent of the total number of cases.
Meanwhile, the country posted a lower positivity rate of 40.6 percent.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said that cases in Metro Manila have already peaked, following low COVID-19 cases in the past few days. Cases however, in the provinces, are starting to increase.
Duque said that he will head to CAR on Tuesday, Jan. 25 to coordinate with Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong to determine the cause of the increase of COVID-19 cases in the province.
He added that they will also monitor Kalinga, Ifugao, Mt. Province; and in Visayas, Northern Samar.
"At titingnan din natin, pupuntahan din namin ni Secretary Vince Dizon and Secretary Berna ang Cebu and Iloilo na kung saan ay sumisipa din ang mga kaso (We will also go together with Secretary Vince Dizon and Secretary Berna to Cebu and Iloilo where cases are also increasing)," Duque stated.
