Fil-Am music producer Troy Laureta presents new sound to kundiman with the two LGBTQIA+ icons
Filipino singer Jake Zyrus and “RuPaul's Drag Race” superstar Valentina are set to bring the kilig early before Love Month as they star in a music video by Fil-Am music artist and producer Troy Laureta. Through a social media post, Laureta teases the release of the “Kung Kita’y Kapiling” video, a cover of the classic OPM song sung by Sylvia La Torre, noted as “The Queen of Kundiman.”
Presenting Zyrus’s vocal prowess, “Kung Kita’y Kapiling” is the last track of Laureta’s album “Giliw.” Other singers featured in the album are Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Jona, former The Pussycat Dolls lead Nicole Scherzinger, among others, and an interlude with TV host Boy Abunda.
“My heartfelt gratitude to everyone that was involved in creating ‘Giliw’! I am forever grateful to each and every one of you,” Laureta posted. “Doing this for OPM is a definite milestone in my career, and it is an honor to represent Filipinos in this industry! God is so good! Long live OPM!”
“Kung Kita’y Kapiling” will premiere on Jan. 28. Listen to it and the other love songs featured in “Giliw” album here.
