Aspiring president Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has no plans of making public his Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net worth or SALN as he said it can be used against him by political rivals.

During a panel interview with various media outfits aired on DWIZ Facebook page Monday, Marcos said being obliged to release his SALN "depends what the purposes are."

He said, "if the purpose is going to be a political attack," then he does not "see a reason why SALN should be given."

He used the case of impeached former chief Justice Renato Corona as an example.

"Lahat ng pulitiko may kalaban eh. Gagawan ng issue 'yan kahit walang issue. For my prime example is Corona, walang issue gumawa sila tinanggal siya (All politicians have rivals. They will make issues against them although there is really none. Prime example was the case of Corona. They made an issue against him and impeached him)," he said.

"They manipulated the analysis of his SALN to make it look like he's hiding something," he added. "If you look at it even more closely, it was a political decision, it was not an objective judgment."

Marcos said he only favors the releasing of SALN of a government official who is facing charges before the court.

"Perhaps that's time we we can give them (SALN) maybe not in public, but certainly to the agents of the court," he said.
