Six teams qualify to Phase 2 of CrossFire Sibol tryouts

Six out of 22 teams that saw action in Phase 1 of Crossfire Sibol Qualifiers advanced to Phase 2 of the tryouts on Saturday, Jan 22.

Leading the squads that will join the invited teams Execration and Pacific Macta are four teams that went unbeaten in the open qualifiers namely SGJ Gaming, SDGT, Cebu Legion, and Gaon Gaming-REA7.

MATTJESS and TNC Pro Team then beat ASS4ILANTZ and InbornSkillz for the 5th and 6th spots of the open qualifier to complete the eight teams in the second phase.

SGJ Gaming defeated Seyplease and TNC Pro Team both via 2-0 sweeps. SDGT also did the same to beat SBS and Inbornskillz to reach the next phase.

Cebu Legion, on the other hand, went through the longer road as it had to take down Mang Bogart, Sinag E-sports and ASS4ILANTZ, all in a 2-0 fashion while Gaon Gaming-REA7 dominated Dispatch Esports, 2-0, before it survived MATTJESS, 2-1 to secure its Phase 2 seats.

The second phase of the Sibol Qualifiers starts on Thurday, Jan. 27. The best team at the end of the national team tryouts will get the chance don the national tri-colors in the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vitenam in May.
