Robredo says 'If I win as president, I can inspire Pinoys to solve country's problems'

Presidential aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo believes that if she wins the presidency, she will be able to “inspire” Filipinos to “own” the problems of the country and help in solving them.

Robredo said she has done this in the Office of the Vice President (OVP) “because we’ve inspired confidence and people have been inspired do their share to contribute to nation-building.”

This has allowed her office, which has less than a billion in budget, to do various programs to help the marginalized sectors of society.

“Iyong solusyon ng lahat ng problema ng ating bansa, hindi siya nakasalalay sa isang tao, pero nakasalalay siya sa lahat ng Pilipino (The solution to all the problems of our country, it’s not hinged on just one person, but it depends on all Filipinos),” she said on “The Jessica Soho Presidential Interviews” on Saturday night, Jan. 22.

Robredo, the leader of the opposition, said the next president should be someone who has a “capacity and ability to inspire, to inspire other Filipinos to own the problem.”

Filipinos have to be inspired to be a part of the solution, she stressed.

The Vice President said she has shown and done this in her stint in the last six years, and it is what she hopes to bring to the presidency.

Meanwhile, social media was abuzz on Saturday night as supporters of other presidential bets shifted to her side after the interview with Soho.

They believe her strong stance on various issues such as corruption, the pandemic, health, economic recovery, and poverty, among others is what the country needs for the next six years.

Celebrities and netizens were all praises for Robredo.

“Omg my DDS and Marcos Apologist Dad said he'll vote for Leni dahil sa mga sagot nya kanina (because of her answers earlier), he also said that BBM disappointed him for refusing to participate HAHAHA,” Twitter user @RicsMillan said.

“My solid BBM cousins in the north are now Leni lovers real quick! I needed to confirm pa ksi I kennat bilibid! Napabilib sila kay (I cannot believe it! They were at awe at) ma'am @lenirobredo. Legit, madaming sumakabilang-bakod (a lot are jumping the fence) overnight!,” tweeted @JellyBee77_MD.

“VP Leni’s questions are quite striking and indeed controversial, but in all fairness I am shocked at how calm and composed she is. It’s impressive that she can answer the questions straight to the point, walang paligoy-ligoy (no beating around the bush). #JessicaSohoInterviews,” Twitter user @The13thSwiftie said.
