MLBB Women's Invitational fires off Jan. 27

All-female Filipino Mobile Legends teams Bren Victress and Omega Empress will be opening their Mobile Legends Bang Bang Women’s Invitational campaign in separate groups on Thursday, Jan. 27.

The Empress were drawn in Group A where they join IDNS Princess from Laos, Karra from Malaysia, Impunity Starlets from Cambodia and the runners-up of Indonesia’s Women Star League.

The Victress, on the other hand, will take on On Air Pipol of Malaysia, Lugíami of Singapore, and the WSL Champion of Indonesia in Group B.

Omega will make its MWI debut against IDNS in the opening match of the tournament at 12 PM before rounding up its opening day assignment with a clash against Impunity at 5 PM.

Bren, meanwhile, will take on On Air Pipol in its first match at 2PM before colliding against Indonesia’s WSL Champion in the last match of the opening day at 7PM.

Each team will play in a Best-of-1 round-robin format in the group stage which will run until Friday, Jan. 28. The top four squads in each group will get a ticket to the playoffs which will be in a single-elimination format. Quarterfinals and semifinals will be in Best-of-3 while the Grand Finals will be a Best-of-5 showdown.

The squad that will emerge as the best team in the four-day event will take home the very first MWI title and the lion’s share of the $150, 000 prize pool. Full schedule of the tournament can be viewed here.
