Binangonan LGU urges residents to get boosted amid COVID-19 surge

The Municipality of Binangonan has urged its residents to get their COVID booster shots as an added protection against Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

According to a Facebook post of the office of Mayor Cesar Ynares, it said that residents who are fully vaccinated for the past three months are enjoined to have their booster dose.

In its post, the municipal government announced that those who received the single-dose Janssen Vaccine (J&J) at least two months ago are also eligible to receive the booster dose.

Booster dose, first and second dose is available for adult and pediatric residents in the following sites:

-Tayuman Health Center Vaccination Site

-Auditorium Vaccination Site

-Binangonan Recreational

-Conference Center Vaccination Sit

- Binangonan Municipal Community Health Center

- Gulod Regional Health Unit Vaccination Site.

As of January 23, a total of 144,673 fully vaccinated individuals out of the total target population of around 227,000 while there are around 82,327 who are still unvaccinated.

The municipal government of Binangonan, Rizal has restricted the movements of individuals who remain unvaccinated or are not fully vaccinated with the enactment of Ordinance No. 001-2022, known as “An Ordinance Regulating The Mobility of Unvaccinated Individuals Within The Territorial Jurisdiction of Binangonan, Province of Rizal, Determining Therein The Enhanced Restrictions, Appropriating Funds For The Implementation Thereof And For Other Purposes”.

Based on the ordinance, unvaccinated and not fully vaccinated people shall remain in their respective residences at all times except for procuring essential goods or services such as, but not limited to, food, water, medicine, medical devices, public utilities, work, and medical and dental necessities.

Although restricted in homes, they are allowed to go out within their barangay, subdivision or village for outdoor exercise activities.

They are also banned in indoor or outdoor places, such as in restaurants and other food establishments.

Places for leisure or social trips to malls, hotels, event venues, sports and country clubs, and similar facilities including churches or places where religious gatherings are held are also no entry places for those unvaccinated and partially vaccinated persons.

They are also banned from using public transportation except for buying essential goods and accessing essential services.

The ordinance also mandates the unvaccinated and partially unvaccinated persons to undergo a Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test every two weeks at their personal expense and present a negative result to authorities as well as employers if they are workers.

A rapid antigen test result may be allowed in the event that the RT-PCR test result is not yet available.

Since Jan. 10, Binangonan police have warned some 52 individuals who failed to show their vaccination cards.

Violators will have a fine ranging from Php500 to Php2,500.

The unvaccinated persons were reminded to go to the vaccination sites or

present their negative swab test or antigen test results should they be apprehended again.

The ordinance will remain effective while Alert Level 3 is implemented in the entire town.
