Antipolo's Greening program makes Hinulugang Taktak area greener

Following the pro-environment advocacies of the Rizal Provincial Government, Antipolo City continues to support the capitol’s initiative as its employees planted bamboos in the vicinity of the Hinulugang Taktak Protected Landscape (HTPL) where the iconic water falls is located .

The City hall officials and employees on Sunday, January 23, planted bamboo trees in HTPL in support to the Ynares to Eco System (YES) To Green Program of Governor Rebecca Ynares.

Mayor Andrea Bautista Ynares was represented by Vice Mayor Josefina Gatlabayan along with the city government workers were briefed and instructed by Provincial Agriculture Office head, Dr. Reynaldo Bonita on the proper procedure on planting the bamboo trees.

Prior to Antipolo City, employees of Jalajala Municipal Government also made their own move in the riverbanks of Laguna De Bay in the municipality known as ‘Paraiso ng Rizal’ (Paradise of Rizal).

Governor Ynares was represented by Vice Governor Junrey San Juan in the bamboo planting event that was also joined by village officials.

The capitol said the province-wide bamboo planting activities will continue as part of the pro-environment moves to mitigate the effects of soil erosion and landslide.

Studies also show that bamboo plants reduces carbon dioxide and increase oxygen in the environment.
