2 nabbed for selling fake vax cards in Marikina

Two women who were allegedly manufacturing and selling fake vaccination cards were arrested by police in an entrapment operation on Friday afternoon, Jan. 21, in Brgy. Tumana in Marikina City.

Police Col. Benliner L. Capili, the Chief-of-Police of the Marikina City Police Station (CPS), identified the suspects as Rovelyn Lebores, 37, a computer shop attendant, and Alma Ramirez, 43.

According to the police report, a confidential informant told operatives of the Marikina CPS Task Force Greyhound that the suspects were allegedly fabricating fake vaccination cards in a computer shop located at Farmers 1 St., in Brgy. Tumana.

The police confiscated a set of computers used to make the alleged fake cards, and several fake copies of vaccination cards that were being sold for P250.

Lebores and Ramirez are currently detained at the Marikina CPS custodial facility.

The suspects will be charged with falsification of public documents under the Revised Penal Code, in relation to Section 12 of Republic Act (RA) No. 11525, or the “COVID-19 Vaccination Program Act of 2021”. (Khriscielle Yalao)
